Middletown Offers Online Water and Sewer Bill Pay
Invoices were mailed a couple days late this month and residents have until June 1 to pay their balance in full.

City water and sewer bills were sent out to residents late last week by mail — with a new feature allowing customers to access and pay off their account online.
Mary Ann Cochefski of Middletown Water and Sewer says invoices dated May 1 were mailed last Thursday — a day or two late. Bills are due in full by June 3 and any unpaid portion is subject to a 1.5 percent charge per month. Invoices are sent to residents semiannually, in May and November.
Monday's common council meeting agenda includes a bid waiver request for the department to sign a two-year contract with Direct Mail Solutions of East Hampton for semiannual bill processing.
The online account portal is here and offers resident the ability to: pay by credit card, view an account history, request service, customer support and usage history.
Middletown's water usage rate is $27.98 per thousand cubic feet plus meter charge. Sewer use rates are $28.78 per thousand cubic feet.
Middletown currently has two active sources of water: Mount Higby Reservoir and the River Road Well fields. Residents who note an increase in their bill should check for a leaking toilet or other plumbing fixtures, according to the department website. Some other reasons could be due to excessive lawn watering during summer, or it is possible the meter was misread.
Payments made in person are to be made in the Tax Collector's Office, Room 103, 245 deKoven Drive, Middletown, CT 06457. For billing inquiries, please call the Water and Sewer Accounting Division at (860) 638-3501.
