MIDDLETOWN, CT – South Fire District in Middletown is participating in Fire Prevention Week with its annual open house event.

This year’s open house is titled “Cooking Safety Starts with You” and is set for Oct. 14 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 445 Randolph Rd.

The open house will feature Fire trucks, Hunter’s Ambulance, police vehicles, military vehicles, hot rods, Sparky the Fire Dog, a cooking fire demonstration, a vehicle extrication demo, a rope rescue demonstration, face painting by Ana, a bounce house, Sand and Spin Art, flu shots, vision screening car seat clinic hot dogs and fries, corn hole and much more.

Volunteers who make the South Fire District Open House include Middletown’s Recreation Department, Health and Recycling Departments, The Lions Club, Middletown Veterans, Hartford Healthcare, Eversource, American Red Cross, WMRD and Servpro.
