Off Ramp To Close In Middletown, Traffic Detour Set

The off-ramp is to be temporarily closed to allow for the reconstruction of the existing ramp.

The closure of Southbound Route 9 Dekoven Drive Off-Ramp (Exit 23B, Old Exit 14) will begin on or around Oct. 16, 2023, and it is anticipated to reopen in the Fall of 2024.

MIDDLETOWN, CT – To allow for the reconstruction of the existing ramp and the Route 9 bridge over Union Street in Middletown, the Connecticut Department of Transportation is temporarily closing Southbound Route 9 Dekoven Drive Off Ramp.

The closure of Southbound Route 9 Dekoven Drive Off-Ramp (Exit 23B, Old Exit 14) will begin on or around Oct. 16, 2023, and it is anticipated to reopen in the Fall of 2024.

CTDOT is advising residents, commuters and the traveling public traffic will be detoured along Route 178 Southbound (Exit 23A, Old Exit 13) to Exit 21 (Main Street Extension) to Main Street to Martin Luther King Jr. Way. All other ramps will remain open.
