Shop Local and Small for Mother's Day Gifts

Pick up a gift for mom that's as special as she is at the Ladybug Boutique, 122 College Street, in Middletown, which carries an array of one-of-a-kind country crafts and handcrafted items.

For Amy Becker, owner of the since 2006 on College Street in Middletown, the luck of the ladybug has held true. And although the familiar red and black spotted beetle is sprinkled in various incarnations all across her gift shop, Becker says the origins of her business muse actually began 14 years ago. 

“When my niece was born, I called her my little ladybug. She was the first grandchild in the family, the first niece, and she started collecting them. So anytime I saw a ladybug, I’d think of her. Now she’s 14.”

The shop is open Tuesday and Thursday to Friday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Wednesday, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Saturday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. For information, call (860) 704-6266.
