Well-Known Furniture Seller Opening New Store In Newington

NEWINGTON, CT — One of the nation's most prominent furniture store chains is hosting a grand opening for a new store in Newington this Friday, Aug. 29.

Bob's Discount Furniture, which has 203 stores in 26 states in the U.S., has opened a new store at 3174 Berlin Turnpike in Newington.

A grand opening celebration is slated for Friday, Aug. 29, at 9 a.m.

There, local dignitaries and company officials will be on hand for a celebration that will include community donations and a special appearance from an iconic company leader.

According to Bob's Discount Furniture, the iconic Bob Kaufman — the company's founder and a staple of decades of memorable television commercials in Connecticut — will be on hand.

Kaufman's animated caricature still adorns Bob's Discount Furniture ads.

Founded in Manchester in 1991 by Kaufman, Bob's Discount Furniture has 203 sites spread out over 26 states in the U.S.
