2 Injured In Norwich Weekend Bar Shooting: Police

A local resident is facing multiple charges following the incident, according to police.

NORWICH, CT — Two people were shot late Saturday night at Pistol Pete’s Bar & Grill, police said.

Police said the victims’ injuries were not life-threatening, and the victims were taken to Backus Hospital for treatment.

The shooting happened around 11:30 p.m. Saturday at the business, which is at 29 Stonington Road.

Investigators seized a firearm and arrested a local man, who was found nearby, in connection with the shooting, police said.

Keith Nival, 44, of Norwich, was charged with criminal attempt to commit first-degree assault, criminal possession of a firearm, unlawful discharge of a firearm, first-degree reckless endangerment, and second-degree breach of peace.

He is scheduled to be arraigned at Superior Court in Norwich on Oct. 2.
