• Premium Utility Contractor holds food drive for Veterans Rally Point (norwichbulletin.com) — Norwich-area veterans are getting crucial holiday food support thanks to a massive Warm Hearts Full Plates drive that brought in about 2,000 pounds of nonperishables, plus $6,000 in turkeys and hams. Norwich Mayor Swarnjit Singh joined volunteers, police, and firefighters as Premium Utility Contractor’s truck was unloaded at Veterans Rally Point, which will distribute food bags starting Dec. 19 and is inviting residents to donate and volunteer.
   

• Woman recovering after crashing her vehicle in Plainfield (wtnh.com) — A Plainfield driver suffered minor injuries after her car left Green Hollow Road, hit a pole, and overturned in a shallow ditch before she got herself out. She was taken to a hospital in Norwich, and part of Green Hollow Road remains closed while crews repair damage.
