• Lack of 'wet' signature disqualifies Adams' in special election (theday.com) — Norwich voters will not see Mark Adams’ name printed on the January 13 special election ballot after state officials ruled his Independent Party nomination invalid due to a missing “wet” ink signature. Adams, a Norwich resident and past candidate for the 139th District, can still run as a write-in against party-backed candidates from Montville and Gales Ferry.
   

• Fitch's Waters finishes with a dynamic 26 points in season-opening win over NFA (theday.com) — Norwich Free Academy’s girls’ basketball team dropped its season opener 53-40 to Fitch, despite a late push and the debut of new head coach and NFA alum Wes Murphy. Fitch junior guard Synaa Waters dominated with 26 points, 11 rebounds, and strong leadership against the Wildcats’ young squad.
