(Kunstraum) Dada Post was an artist-run organization, founded in January 2008, by Howard McCalebb in Berlin, Germany. In 2022 Mr. McCalebb moved to Norwich, Connecticut, and establish the art gallery Dada Post USA. Mr. McCalebb is a sculptor and active figure on the international art scene. Dada Post USA is an autonomous space for the production, display and discussion of current art. Foremost, we contemplate artistic expression from the standpoint of pure inspiration emanating from the source – the artist. We are keenly interested in the effects of Globalization on art practice, and the notion of a hybridized Post Modern art practice. As a contemporary art space, Dada Post USA is primarily concerned with artwork that is the most current, reflecting the actual meaning of the term: Contemporary Art. We offer a program of exhibitions and events, featuring videos, poetry/literary readings, music and other live performances, during and between art exhibitions. The original inspiration for both (Kunstraum) Dada Post and Dada Post USA was the Cabaret Voltaire in Zürich, Switzerland and Andy Warhol’s Factory in New York City – which were open venues for impromptu gatherings, events, and artistic experimentation. NORWICH, CT — Police are investigating after a deceased person was discovered Tuesday in Uncas Leap Heritage Park. Sgt. Ken Wright said police were summoned to the Yantic Street park around 11:07 a.m. Tuesday for a report of an "unresponsive individual." Responding officers determined the individual was deceased. The victim's identity is being withheld pending notification of next of kin, police said. An initial investigation shows no suspicious circumstances surrounding the death, according to police. "There is no threat or danger to the public, and the park remains open," police said. Anyone with information is asked to contact Det. Heather Meikle at 860-886-5561 ext. 3155. Tips may be provided anonymously.
