Man Injured When Vehicle Careens Down Embankment In Norwich
A man was injured after he drove his car through a street sign and a fence, then off a retaining wall before landing at the train tracks.
NORWICH, CT — A car careened off the road and down an embankment in Norwich on Sunday, according to Norwich Firefighters Local 892. Firefighters responded and "stabilized the vehicle with Res-Q-Jacks and a Griphoist."
A rope system was set up to haul the patient up the embankment.
The person was then transported to the hospital, according to Norwich Firefighters Local 892.

The man had driven through a street sign and a fence, then off a retaining wall before landing by the train tracks behind the YMCA building at 337 Main St., The Day reported.
Firefighters found the man unconscious and trapped in a vehicle. After treating him for injuries and stabilizing the vehicle, it took firefighters about 20 minutes to haul the man up, according to The Day.
