(Kunstraum) Dada Post was an artist-run organization, founded in January 2008, by Howard McCalebb in Berlin, Germany. In 2022 Mr. McCalebb moved to Norwich, Connecticut, and establish the art gallery Dada Post USA. Mr. McCalebb is a sculptor and active figure on the international art scene. Dada Post USA is an autonomous space for the production, display and discussion of current art. Foremost, we contemplate artistic expression from the standpoint of pure inspiration emanating from the source – the artist. We are keenly interested in the effects of Globalization on art practice, and the notion of a hybridized Post Modern art practice. As a contemporary art space, Dada Post USA is primarily concerned with artwork that is the most current, reflecting the actual meaning of the term: Contemporary Art. We offer a program of exhibitions and events, featuring videos, poetry/literary readings, music and other live performances, during and between art exhibitions. The original inspiration for both (Kunstraum) Dada Post and Dada Post USA was the Cabaret Voltaire in Zürich, Switzerland and Andy Warhol’s Factory in New York City – which were open venues for impromptu gatherings, events, and artistic experimentation. NORWICH, CT – A local man has been arrested in connection with the armed robbery of the Centreville Bank on Wednesday morning. Police said Santinho Samacau, 20, of 45 Ann St., was charged with first-degree robbery, second-degree larceny, first-degree reckless endangerment, criminal use of a firearm, first-degree threatening, interfering with an officer, carrying a pistol without a permit, and possession of a high capacity magazine. No one was injured during the robbery. Police were summoned to the 40 High St. bank shortly after 9:30 a.m. Wednesday. Witnesses provided a description of the suspect and told police he had a firearm. Police said they located a man running away from the bank and took him into custody after a short foot chase. According to police, Samacau had a loaded semi-automatic handgun in his possession and a "large amount" of cash. Police urged anyone with information on the incident to contact them at (860) 886-5561.
