Norwich Man Killed In Hit-And-Run Accident on Route 2 In Preston

State police are searching for the driver of the vehicle, believed to be a BMW.

PRESTON, CT — A pedestrian who was killed on Route 2 in Preston in a hit-and-run accident Monday has been identified as a Norwich resident.

State police on Wednesday identified the victim as Robert Edwin McGlothin, 57, of Sheraton Lane, Norwich.

McGlothin was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident, which happened Monday around 9:25 p.m. near the Norwich line.

The driver who struck and killed the victim fled the scene, and no arrests have been made as of Wednesday afternoon.

State police said the suspect’s vehicle is believed to be a BMW X series in the 2019 to 2025 range. No other information about the vehicle, such as color or state registration, was available.

Police said the vehicle likely has front end or undercarriage damage as a result of the collision.
