(Kunstraum) Dada Post was an artist-run organization, founded in January 2008, by Howard McCalebb in Berlin, Germany. In 2022 Mr. McCalebb moved to Norwich, Connecticut, and establish the art gallery Dada Post USA. Mr. McCalebb is a sculptor and active figure on the international art scene. Dada Post USA is an autonomous space for the production, display and discussion of current art. Foremost, we contemplate artistic expression from the standpoint of pure inspiration emanating from the source – the artist. We are keenly interested in the effects of Globalization on art practice, and the notion of a hybridized Post Modern art practice. As a contemporary art space, Dada Post USA is primarily concerned with artwork that is the most current, reflecting the actual meaning of the term: Contemporary Art. We offer a program of exhibitions and events, featuring videos, poetry/literary readings, music and other live performances, during and between art exhibitions. The original inspiration for both (Kunstraum) Dada Post and Dada Post USA was the Cabaret Voltaire in Zürich, Switzerland and Andy Warhol’s Factory in New York City – which were open venues for impromptu gatherings, events, and artistic experimentation. PRESTON, CT — A pedestrian who was killed on Route 2 in Preston in a hit-and-run accident Monday has been identified as a Norwich resident. State police on Wednesday identified the victim as Robert Edwin McGlothin, 57, of Sheraton Lane, Norwich. McGlothin was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident, which happened Monday around 9:25 p.m. near the Norwich line.The driver who struck and killed the victim fled the scene, and no arrests have been made as of Wednesday afternoon. State police said the suspect's vehicle is believed to be a BMW X series in the 2019 to 2025 range. No other information about the vehicle, such as color or state registration, was available. Police said the vehicle likely has front end or undercarriage damage as a result of the collision. The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information about the accident, driver or vehicle is asked to contact Troop E in Montville at 860-848-6500.
