Norwich Passes Law Banning ATVs, Dirt Bikes From City Streets: Report

The City Council passed the ordinance at a Monday meeting.

NORWICH, CT — An ordinance banning ATVs, dirt bikes, and mini-motorcycles from city streets will go into effect in Norwich, The Day reported. The City Council passed the ordinance at its Monday meeting.

The new ordinance gives police authority to seize vehicles pending proof of ownership and fine violators $100. Second-offense violations will be fined $250, and subsequent violations will be fined $500.

Residents spoke in favor of the ban at the meeting, reporting that these vehicles are noisy and dangerous.
