(Kunstraum) Dada Post was an artist-run organization, founded in January 2008, by Howard McCalebb in Berlin, Germany. In 2022 Mr. McCalebb moved to Norwich, Connecticut, and establish the art gallery Dada Post USA. Mr. McCalebb is a sculptor and active figure on the international art scene. Dada Post USA is an autonomous space for the production, display and discussion of current art. Foremost, we contemplate artistic expression from the standpoint of pure inspiration emanating from the source – the artist. We are keenly interested in the effects of Globalization on art practice, and the notion of a hybridized Post Modern art practice. As a contemporary art space, Dada Post USA is primarily concerned with artwork that is the most current, reflecting the actual meaning of the term: Contemporary Art. We offer a program of exhibitions and events, featuring videos, poetry/literary readings, music and other live performances, during and between art exhibitions. The original inspiration for both (Kunstraum) Dada Post and Dada Post USA was the Cabaret Voltaire in Zürich, Switzerland and Andy Warhol’s Factory in New York City – which were open venues for impromptu gatherings, events, and artistic experimentation. MANCHESTER, CT — A car crash in Manchester Monday night claimed the life of a Norwich resident, police said. The crash took place at 7:59 p.m. on the 300 block of Highland Street, police said. Police said that a vehicle traveling westbound on Highland Street being driven by 34-year-old Porscha Williams of Norwich, collided head-on with a car traveling eastbound on Highland Street being operated by a 32-year-old woman from Bolton. Williams was transported to Hartford Hospital, where she later died from injuries sustained in the collision, police said. The Bolton woman sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was also transported to Hartford Hospital for treatment, police said. Police are asking that anyone who may have witnessed the crash or has additional information can contact investigators at 860-533-8620 or by email at sinopolin@manchesterct.gov.
