Norwich School Board Passes New Student Dress Guidelines: Report

After getting rid of school uniform requirements, the board has passed new guidelines.

NORWICH, CT — The Norwich Board of Education has passed guidelines on student dress, according to The Norwich Bulletin. The move comes after the board voted to nix its existing school uniform policy in May.

The uniform policy had been in place since 2009.

The new guidelines prohibit clothing and designs that are deemed offensive or revealing, as well as any clothing or accessories that could cause injury. The new policy specifically prohibits the Nazi swastika and Confederate flag along with anything that could incite violence.
