Senior Resources Celebrates 50 years

Eastern Connecticut's Agency on Aging supports older adults, caregivers and people with disabilities while they age with dignity.

Senior Resources has managed programs and services to support aging for 50 years as of this year and is committed to its core mission of being a trusted resource of free, unbiased information, referral and assistance, regarding all aspects of aging. The agency celebrated the milestone on July 24, 2024, with many partner community agencies, legislators and staff. Senator
Cathy Osten stated in an interview, “We have an increasing population of older adults, and we need to look at what we are doing as a state to support people through the natural process of aging." She noted aspirations for the future of aging to foster a life where, “people can focus on
how they enjoy the second half of their lives." Senator Jeff Gordon (who is also a physician) noted that, “There are many options to keep people healthier and staying in their homes” with a vision for the future of aging to include, “more people staying more functional as we
age."
