Sign Up for Benefit Golf Tournament for Channel 3 Kids Camp

Play and Sponsorship opportunities are available

Calling all golfers who want to play at a world-class course and help boys and girls from across Connecticut at the same time! The Channel 3 Kids Camp is now accepting registration for players and event sponsors for its 21st annual golf tournament to be held on Wednesday, August 29, 2018 at Mohegan Sun Golf Club in Baltic, Conn. The tournament raises important funds to provide overnight and day camp opportunities for more than 3,000 youth every year at the camp located in Andover and Coventry, Connecticut.

A variety of sponsorship packages are available for businesses, organizations and individuals, some of which include play for two or more golfers and dinner at the awards banquet. The price to participate for an individual golfer is $350 or $1,250 if players register together as a foursome.

Tee-off is at 11 a.m., preceded by a special welcome and blessing by the Mohegan Tribal Chief. Registration includes breakfast, 18 holes of golf in a Scramble format, an unlimited-serving barbecue luncheon, cocktail hour, dinner banquet, and post-play awards ceremony. Emceed by Channel 3 meteorologist Scot Haney, there will be an exciting live auction and many raffle items. All players receive a exclusive tournament gift, and will have the opportunity to compete for a variety of on-course golf prizes.

The 2018 Tournament Chair is Klarn DePalma, Executive Vice President of MNI Targeted Media Inc. (and former WFSB-TV 3 General Manager and Vice President of Meredith Broadcasting Group). Kevin Brown, Tribal Councilor and Chairman of The Mohegan Tribal Council, is the Host Chair.

“Our annual golf tournament raises awareness and substantial funds for the camp. We have a rich and long history at Channel 3 Kids Camp.” explains Denise K. Hornbecker, CEO of the Channel 3 Kids Camp. “This will be the 108th year of offering continuous Summer Camp, providing rewarding and fun-filled overnight and day camp experiences to children throughout Connecticut.” The Channel 3 Kids Camp is owned and operated by the Almada Lodge-Times Farm Camp Corp. (an independent Board of community volunteers) and is supported by grants from foundations and companies, corporate sponsorships and donations from individuals and businesses. Channel 3 Kids Camp believes that ALL children deserve a camp experience. Its mission is to provide fun year-round opportunities to children of all abilities, families, and communities through recreational and educational programs that promote diversity, acceptance, and environmental appreciation. The nonprofit organization offers, traditional overnight and day camp summer programs, respite weekends, vacation camps, a teen leadership program, a year-round childcare center and visiting weekend groups.
