Social Media Threat Leads To Evacuation Of Norwich Football Game

A high school football game Friday night was evacuated after police learned of a threat made on social media, according to reports.

NORWICH, CT — The stands at a Norwich Free Academy football game Friday were evacuated following a social media threat threatening the game, according to FOX 61.

Police received information at around 8:50 p.m. about a Snapchat video posted from the stands of the game that threatened a shooting.

Officers at the game immediately began to evacuate several hundred attendees, WTNH News-8 reported.

Officers then searched all open buildings at the school and did not locate a threat.

One juvenile suspect, who is not a student at the school, was arrested.
