Oxford Public Schools Conducts 'Child Find' Search
Oxford seeks to assist children with disabilities who may further benefit from the system's educational program offerings.

From Oxford Public Schools: On behalf of the Oxford Public Schools, Department of Pupil Personnel Services, I request your assistance to locate all children with disabilities from Birth to 21 years of age, who need special education and related services, whose parents/guardians reside in Oxford, including children enrolled in private schools, including religiously affiliated school children, elementary and secondary, migrant and homeless children, and children who are suspected of being a child with a disability and in need of special education, even though they are advancing from grade to grade. We are particularly interested in learning of students with disabilities within the mentioned age range who are not enrolled in our public schools but who may need special services. Our inquiry also extends to children who may be temporarily residing with an Oxford family.
The department’s intent is to assist these children’s needs early to afford a greater opportunity to benefit from the system’s educational program offerings. We ask that you contact the Oxford Pupil Personnel Services Department at 203-881-2599 or fax a note to 203-881-5038.
This notice is posted in order that the Oxford Public Schools continue to be in compliance with federal and state child find regulations pursuant to Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act and Individual Disabilities Education Act of 2004.
