Police ID Motorcyclist Killed in Shelton

The following information comes from a press release by Detective Sgt. Kevin Ahern of the Shelton Police Department.

Update, 9:53 a.m. Wednesday

Shelton Police have identified the deceased operator of the motorcycle as 24-year-old Brian C. Laneuville, of Seymour.

The operator of the other motor vehicle has been identified as 54-year-old Noreen Labranche, of Seymour, who reported no injuries.

Although there is an ongoing investigation into the crash a preliminary investigation shows both vehicles were southbound on River Road. The collision occurred at the driveway to the Riverdale Diner. No arrests have been made.

Shelton Police are investigating a fatal motor vehicle crash on Route 110 in the area of the .

At approximately 4:20 p.m. yesterday, May 29, the police received multiple 911 calls reporting a motor vehicle versus motor cycle crash in the area of the Rivendale Diner, 521 River Road.

Police and Shelton EMS responded. A 24-year-old male who was operating the motor cycle was transported to the Bridgeport Hospital Trauma Center where he was later pronounced dead.

The Shelton Police Accident Reconstruction Team is currently conducting an investigation and no other details are available.

The name of the operator of the motor cycle is not being released at this time pending notification of family.

Route 110 is reduced to one lane in the area and there are delays. Police are asking the public driving in the area to use alternative routes.
