In Memoriam: Lucy Carson

The Rocky Hill resident passed away Jan. 7 at the age of 88.

Lucy (Lucca) Carson, 88, of Rocky Hill, loving wife of the late Daniel R. Carson, died peacefully Thursday, January 7, 2016 at Hartford Hospital with her family by her bedside.

She was born December 17, 1927 in Hartford and was the daughter of the late Salvatore and Salvatrice (Finocchiairo) Lucca.

Lucy was employed by the Travelers Insurance Company for over 35 years, retiring several years ago. She was a longtime faithful communicant of St. James Church, Rocky Hill.

She was an avid reader who also loved crocheting, baking and traveling to New York City to see Broadway shows. She enjoyed spending time with her friends at the Silver Sneakers Rocky Hill Health Club, but her greatest love was being with her family. She will be deeply missed by her daughter, Lisa M. Carson, with whom she made her home in Rocky Hill. Lucy was compassionate, warm and loving to everyone who knew her. Her personality and love of life were her greatest gifts for everyone to cherish.

She also leaves behind her brother-in-law, Anthony Carson of Berlin and sister-in-law, Marie Carson of Enfield; special friends, Georgianne DePasquale and Peg Zangari, both of Wethersfield, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by two brothers, Frank and Sare Lucca; two sisters, Sara Falcone and Josephine Grasso and three sisters-in-law, Lucy and Rose Lucca and Gloria Carson.

Calling hour will be Saturday from 8:15-9:15 a.m. at the D’Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Blvd., Wethersfield, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at St. James Church, 767 Elm St., Rocky Hill. The burial will be in Rose Hill Memorial Park, Rocky Hill.
