Keep A Healthy Heart Courtesy Of Southington's Health Department
The South-Central Health District in Southington is hosting free heart-health classes starting early next month at the local senior center.
SOUTHINGTON, CT — Residents are invited to learn how to take care of their hearts courtesy of a free, six-week program from the South-Central Health District.
The Southington-based regional health department, which also serves Plainville and Middlefield, is hosting the program starting on Tuesday, Feb. 3.
For six weeks starting that day, residents of member towns are invited to the Calendar House Senior Center in Southington, 388 Pleasant St., for the program.

Called "Dash to Better Blood Pressure," the program is described as a "free, heart-health program built around confidence, support, and real-life tools."
It will consist of weekly, 60-minute programs that will include a doctor's question-and-answer session, a cooking demonstration, Zumba fitness, a heart health starter kit, and free wellness items.

Space is limited, so folks, especially those dealing with high blood pressure, are urged to register as soon as they can.
