64-Year-Old Charged In South Windsor Hammer Attack: Police
A 64-year-old fled the scene of a South Windsor hammer attack, but was later picked up at a traffic stop, police said.

SOUTH WINDSOR, CT — A 64-year-old South Windsor resident was picked up by police after a hammer attack, an incident report indicates.
She is now facing a felony assault charge, police said.
The incident occurred at 3:46 p.m. Saturday. According to an incident report, the woman tried to hit another woman over the head with a hammer during a squabble. The other woman was able to block the strikes with her hands and arm and suffered a minor injury in the process, according to an incident report.

The attacker fled the scene, but Bloomfield police located her during a traffic stop a short while later, according to an incident report.
She was eventually arrested and booked on second-degree assault and disorderly conduct charges, police said.
