92% of South Windsor Republican Boards & Commission Nominees Approved

Town Councilor releases data of overwhelming bipartisan support of GOP nominees put forward by Republican Town Committee

South Windsor - South Windsor Town Councilor Andrew Paterna today released data showing nominations to the communities boards, commissions and committees put forward by the South Windsor Republican Town Committee are overwhelmingly supported by Democratic councilors.

"Although some might think nothing gets done in politics, these numbers don't lie," Paterna said. The following data released today is clear:

Since 2021, the South Windsor Town Council has worked with Republicans to unanimously affirm the nominations of 33 Republicans (92%) who came before the Council to serve on boards, commissions, and committees. Interestingly, one of those approved for the Public Building Commission in a unanimous vote was the recent South Windsor Republican Town Committee Chair, Kathy Daugherty.

There were only 3 Republicans (8%) put forward by the South Windsor Republican Town Committee who did not receive the necessary votes on the Council to advance their nominations.

"Democrats on the South Windsor Town Council are committed to work in a bipartisan way serving our community regardless of political affiliation, and these numbers reflect that reality," Paterna said.

"We would be happy to consider more Republicans, as they have many unfilled positions," Paterna concluded.
