Adamo, Burns: Recent Death Notices From South Windsor

SOUTH WINDSOR, CT — Here are some recent death notices from South Windsor.
Marilyn (Brown) Adamo, 82, of Windsor and formerly of South Windsor, beloved mother, grandmother, colleague and friend, passed away peacefully following a brief illness on May 14, 2025. In school, she excelled in softball and field hockey before pursuing nursing at Brooklyn College (CUNY). She earned her associate’s degree and began her career serving in New York hospitals. In the 1970s and ’80s, she devoted herself to raising her sons. Marilyn pursued her dream of earning a B.S. in nursing, graduating magna cum laude with honors from Central Connecticut State University in 1994. She found deep fulfillment in her work as a school nurse in West Hartford, caring for students at St. Timothy’s Middle School and Northwest Catholic High School.
Patrick Burns, 79, beloved father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend, passed away following an illness on May 15, 2025. He was a graduate of South Windsor High School, then enlisted in the U.S. Army, where he proudly served his country during the Vietnam War from October 1965 to July 1967, receiving the Purple Heart Award. Patrick enjoyed fishing, crosswords, and above all else, playing guitar, at which he was superb.
