SOUTH WINDSOR, CT — Here are some recent death notices from South Windsor.
Elizabeth (Risley) Addington, 92, beloved wife of the late Linwood F. Addington, died peacefully on July 5. Betsy was a graduate of Ellsworth High School, Class of 1950. On March 31, 1950, she married the love of her life, Linwood F. Addington after he returned from serving in World War II. They settled on Main Street in South Windsor, where Betsy enjoyed living her entire life. Betsy was a full-time mother and homemaker when her six children were young, periodically working in the cafeteria at Ellsworth and Union schools in South Windsor. After her children were in school, she made her career working for the U.S. Postal Service and retired as the Postmaster after 25 years of service. Her proudest accomplishment was raising her children on her and Linwood’s family farm.
Fred Andreoli, 82, formerly of South Windsor and Southport Island, Maine, passed away peacefully on June 19, 2025, with his daughter by his side. He was a graduate of Ellsworth High School with the Class of 1961. Fred was also a graduate of American Academy McAllister Institute of Funeral Services Inc. in New York with the class of 1965 and was qualified by the Board of Examiners of Embalmers & Funeral Directors to practice embalming in 1966. Fred owned and operated Northeast Resources, Inc. for many years. Fred relocated to Southport Island, Maine where he owned the Southport Island grocery store, Cavolis gourmet shop, Boothbay Harbor and 151 Water Street restaurant, Gardiner Maine.

Lynne (Dame) Chagnot, 75, passed away peacefully on June 28, 2025. A nurse for over 30 years, Lynne dedicated her career to caring for others with compassion and expertise. Her patients always knew her as a gentle and skilled healthcare provider, and her work touched many lives. Outside of her professional life, Lynne was an avid fan of the Boston Red Sox and UConn women’s basketball. She never missed a game and loved sharing her excitement with family and friends. Each spring and summer, she looked forward to planting flowers in her garden.
Donald Fornwalt Jr., 80, of Melrose, beloved husband of 40 years of Kathy Fornwalt, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on July 8, 2025. Don graduated from South Windsor High School and then proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force, achieving the rank of Staff Sergeant. After retiring from IBM, he found enjoyment working part-time in Cabela's boating electronics department. Don was known for his easygoing nature. Whether he was on the water boating, fishing with his sons, listening to Elvis, tending the grill with a cold beer or spending time with loved ones, Don was happiest when surrounded by his family.

Robert Tomolonis, 87, beloved husband for 57 years of Dolores (Pandolfo) Tomolonis, passed away peacefully on July 10, 2025 after a brief illness. Bob was raised in Hartford and was a graduate of Bulkeley High School, Class of 1956. After high school, Bob served in the Army National Guard and was honorably discharged in 1959. After returning to Hartford, he took a position with the Hartford Electric Light Company, which later became Northeast Utilities. He worked as a manager in the Central Region Dispatch Center and retired in 1999 after over 42 years of service to the company. During his retirement years, Bob continued to stay active and worked part-time at the pro shop at Willowbrook Golf Course in South Windsor, a job which he loved.
