SOUTH WINDSOR, CT — Here are some recent notable accomplishments by local college students, as provided by readMedia Newswire. More great feats will be noted as they are received in the coming weeks.
Eastern Connecticut State University, Willimantic CT
- Eight residents of South Windsor were among more than 800 ECSU students who received undergraduate and graduate-level degrees in the 2024-25 academic year, which culminated this past May with two commencement ceremonies at the conclusion of the spring 2025 semester. Local graduates and their majors were Alyssa Lombardo, Master of Science in elementary education; Anish Ivaturi, Bachelor of Science in computer science; Zakaria Ly, Bachelor of Science in business administration; Trevor Anthony, Bachelor of General Studies in general studies; . Angela Clark, Bachelor of Arts in criminology and sociology; Zachary DiBenedetto, Bachelor of Science in finance; Nicole Leyner, Bachelor of Science in early childhood education and English; and Emma Thibedeau, Bachelor of Science in psychology.
Goodwin University, East Hartford CT

- Goodwin University's President's List for the spring 2025 session includes 321 students, all of whom scored a perfect 4.0 GPA. Among them were South Windsor residents John Cashman, Pamela Gakeva, Kyrsten Humphreys, Ryan Will and Victoire Will.
- Sarah Davis, Tatyana Harris and Mark Manning, all of South Windsor, were among 440 students who achieved Dean's List status for the spring 2025 session. Dean's List inclusion requires a student to earn a minimum 3.5 GPA, the equivalent of an A- average, during a given academic session. The student must also be enrolled in a minimum of six academic credits to qualify.
Hamilton College, Clinton NY
- Nathan Grilli of South Windsor has been named to the Dean's List at Hamilton College for the spring 2025 semester. To be named to the Dean's List, a student must be a current member of the Class of 2025, 2026, or 2027, have carried a course load of four or more graded credits throughout the semester, and earned an average GPA of 3.5 or above on a 4.0 scale. Grilli, a rising junior majoring in biology, is a graduate of South Windsor High School.
Hartwick College, Oneonta NY

- Katherine Vieira of South Windsor was named to Hartwick College's spring 2025 Dean's List. Vieira, who is pursuing a major in geology and physics with a minor in astronomy and planetary sciences, was among the 376 students named to the list. To qualify, students must complete at least 12 academic credits during a term with a grade point average of at least 3.50 and no incompletes.
State University of New York, Cortland NY
- Grace Reed of South Windsor was one of 1,187 SUNY Cortland students who earned President's List honors for the spring 2025 semester. Reed's major is exercise science. To qualify for the President's List, students must earn a grade of A- or better in each of their classes while carrying a course load of 12 hours or more.
