DNA Helps South Windsor Police Nab Suspect In $65,000 Jewelry Theft
South Windsor police have made an arrest in connection with a jewelry store break-in.

SOUTH WINDSOR, CT — South Windsor police have made an arrest in connection with a springtime burglary at a local jewelry store.
On Tuesday, Troy L. Coleman, 59, of Bloomfield, was taken into custody on an active arrest warrant and charged with third-degree burglary, first-degree criminal mischief and first-degree larceny.
According to a warrant, Coleman, along with two others, had a hand in an April 14 burglary at Hannoush Jewelers at 340 Buckland Road.

Coleman and his accomplices smashed a window to the business to gain entry and then smashed jewelry cases and stole approximately $65,000 worth of rings, watches and necklaces, according to a warrant.
Coleman was linked to the incident through DNA evidence left behind at the scene, according to a warrant.

The investigation into the identity of the other two suspects is still ongoing, police said.
Coleman was picked up by police in Hartford PD and transferred to the SWPD. He was assigned a $150,000 surety bond in South Windsor and then transferred to the custody of the North Haven Police Department, where he was processed on additional warrants, police said.
Coleman is scheduled to appear in Manchester Superior Court to face the South Windsor charges on Nov. 26.
