DUI Stop In South Windsor Leads To Weapons, Drug Charges: Police

SOUTH WINDSOR, CT — A drunken driving stop in South Windsor turned into a drug and weapons case, police said.

At 5:50 p.m. on Saturday, South Windsor police responded to the area of Main Street and Vibert Road after receiving reports about an unresponsive man, later identified as Ciriaco G. Capobianco, 40, of, Stafford, slumped in the driver's seat of a vehicle with the vehicle still in drive, according to an incident report.

When questioned by officers, Capobianco refused to complete standardized field sobriety tests and was taken into custody, according to an inc incident report. During a search of the vehicle, officers located crack cocaine on Capobianco and a hand-held "stun gun taser" in his vehicle. He is now facing related charges, police said.

Capobianco was processed and released on a $200,000 surety bond and is scheduled to appear in Manchester Superior Court on Oct. 15, police said.
