Gardening Under the Stars: Saving Our Nocturnal Pollinators & Our Heal

After the sun sets, many important pollinating insects begin their night shift. A growing body of research suggests that the glow of uncontrolled outdoor lighting is causing serious harm to these nocturnal insects, migrating birds, other wildlife, as well as our own health. Join Us to learn about the ecological impacts of outdoor lighting and how you can reduce light pollution around your home.


With Margery Winters, the Assistant Director and instructor at Roaring Brook Nature Center in Canton where she is delighted to be able to share her passion for earth science and nature with students of all ages. She manages the Nature Center’s native plant gardens and is an advocate for the role of natives in our designed landscapes.
