Guru Vandana Event: HSS Celebrates South Windsor Teachers.

The Guru Vandana event, a heartfelt tribute to the invaluable contributions of educators, took place on 05/04/2024 at pleasant valley school. The event was organized by HSS( Hindu swayam sevak Sangh) to honor over 80 dedicated teachers across south Windsor schools( including elementary, middle, high school teachers and teachers from other fields such as music and taikwando). HSS welcomed esteemed dignitaries, including State Rep, Tom Delinicki, South Windsor Mayor Audrey Delnicki, South Windsor school superindent Dr Kate Carter. alongside a total gathering of around 300 attendees.As the teachers were welcomed by high school students at registration, they were handed over beautiful cards that students had created for them, along with agenda.The evening was adorned with national anthems of US and India, followed by a minute of silence for terrorist attack that happened in Kashmir recently. A captivating skit by students was presented about six festivals of India which included beautiful Dances and a reverent Guru Puja, symbolizing the deep reverence for the guiding lights in the lives of many. Attendees were treated to an inspiring showcase of talent and devotion, underscoring the profound impact teachers have on shaping the future generation. Students performed Guru Pujan, by applying talk, doing aarti, touching their feet’s and giving small gift as token of gratitude to their teachers.Event was followed by refreshments, and various booths like Mehandi(applying beautiful designs on hands of teachers), Photo booth, ensuring all participants could relish the camaraderie and jubilation that filled the air.
