Layoffs Looming At South Windsor Manufacturing Plant
67 employees will be laid off by early 2025, including 49 in its South Windsor manufacturing plant and 18 at corporate HQ in East Hartford.

SOUTH WINDSOR-EAST HARTFORD, CT — HyAxiom Inc., a division of Doosan Energy Solutions America and a pioneer in fuel cell technology for the Apollo space program will be laying off employees at its South Windsor manufacturing plant and East Hartford headquarters.
The company sent formal notification of its intended layoffs to the Connecticut Department of Labor Rapid Response Unit on Nov. 14. Layoffs are expected to begin Jan. 13, 2025, with a second round planned for mid-February.
A total of 49 employees at the company's South Windsor plant will lose their jobs, while 18 workers will be cut at the East Hartford headquarters. The layoffs are expected to be permanent, according to the filing.

Originally a division of United Technologies Corporation, the company became noted in the late 1960s, as its fuel cells powered and provided water for the first moon landing. It was acquired by Korean-based Doosan in 2014.
