Massachusetts-Based Furnishings Outlet Expands Into South Windsor
Founded in 1971, Danco Furniture & Design is opening its first Connecticut showroom in South Windsor.

SOUTH WINDSOR, CT — A long-established Massachusetts-based home furnishings business, specializing in Scandinavian and European furniture, will soon open its first Connecticut outlet in South Windsor.
Danco Furniture & Design, founded in 1971 as a gift shop by Dan and Joan Haugaard, has been owned since 2018 by former employees Miguel Candelaria Jr., Emily Luippold and Ross Grant. They have steered the business towards growth while preserving its family-like atmosphere and upholding the legacy of its founders.
Based in West Hatfield, Mass., the retailer recently occupied a second showroom at 41 Glendale Road, just off Route 5 in South Windsor. For more than three decades, the site was home to Now! Furnishings to Go before its owner retired in October.
