SOUTH WINDSOR, CT — A 24-year-old local resident was arrested Friday morning on a warrant charging him with importing and possession child sex abuse material, according to police.

The charges against Drew J. McFarland stem from a tip received last July from the National
Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) regarding child sex abuse material that was uploaded from an IP address linked to a residence in South Windsor. A search warrant was conducted at the home in December, and McFarland was identified as a suspect, police said.

Digital evidence was seized and analyzed, and over 500 images/videos containing child sex abuse material were identified. An arrest warrant was approved, police said.
