Suspects Mace Store Clerk During Robbery At South Windsor Gas Station, Police Say

Two masked suspects took the register drawer and ran, police say

SOUTH WINDSOR, CT — A store clerk was sprayed with what police believe was bear mace during a robbery late Monday night at the Exxon on John Fitch Boulevard, according to South Windsor police.

Officers responded to 5 John Fitch Blvd. around 11:30 p.m. on November 24th. Police said two masked suspects walked into the store and asked the clerk for cigarettes. When the clerk turned back around with the cigarettes, one of the suspects sprayed him in the face with what was likely bear mace.

The suspects then grabbed the store’s register drawer and ran from the scene on foot, police said.

The clerk was evaluated by EMS and refused transport to the hospital.

South Windsor police are continuing to investigate the incident.
