WILLINGTON, CT — A Massachusetts man considered to be at-large in a home invasion case was picked up in Willington last week, state police said.

Details of the arrest were released this week.

At 20 minutes after midnight on April 14, Troop C was informed that a home invasion suspect out of Billerica, MA, driving a Jeep could be heading its way. Police were alerted that a firearm was perhaps used in the home invasion, according to an incident report.

The Jeep with a Pennsylvania plate and the suspect — identified as Essam Meawad, 33, of Cherry Hill, NJ — were spotted at the Travel Centers of America truck stop at 12:46 a.m. and taken into custody on an extradition warrant, state police said.
