WILLINGTON, CT — The case of a high-speed driver who hid from a traffic stop in Willington now includes an arrest.

On Wednesday, state police from the Troop C barracks located and arrested Benjamin Slocum, 38, of Eastford, on the strength of an active arrest warrant, according to a report.

The warrant for Slocum's arrest stems from an incident on May 7, when a trooper clocked a vehicle by radar at going 96 mph in a 45 mph zone on Route 74 in Willington, according to an arrest report.

The information was relayed to the investigating trooper, who identified the vehicle's registration from the towing business surveillance footage. A follow-up investigation based upon the registration information led to the location and identification of Slocum, who later admitted to fleeing from the traffic stop, according to an arrest report.
