STAFFORD, CT — A man living in Stafford who was ordered to spend the rest of his life on the sex offender registry after a violent offense conviction in Massachusetts has been charged with failing to keep his information up-to-date, state police said.

Michael Boyce, 54, whose listed address is 44 Tolland Avenue in Stafford, was served a warrant on Feb. 24, state police said. He is to appear in Rockville Superior Court on Tuesday, according to an arrest report.

According to a warrant, on March 27, 2001, Boyce was convicted of "indecent assault and battery on a child under 14" in Massachusetts. It is defined as a sexually violent crime, according to a warrant. He moved to Connecticut in 2022 and registered in the state, according to a warrant.

He failed to respond to address update notices that began that year, state police said in a warrant.
