Tree Falls On Person In Sunday Accident In Willington

WILLINGTON, CT — One person was taken to an area hospital Sunday afternoon after being hit by a falling tree, according to state police and the Willington Fire Department No. 1.

The accident took place at 3:48 p.m. at a heavily wooded property on Timber Lane, fire officials said.

A preliminary state police report indicates that a tree fell on a person, but did not indicate the exact details.

The person was seriously injured and taken by ambulance to Rockville General Hospital, police and fire officials said.

No "criminal aspect" is suspected, state police said.
