U-Haul-Driving, Hoodie-Wearing Bandits Botch Up ATM Theft In Willington: State Police
A surveillance video shows a pair of would-be thieves mess up an ATM heist in Willington.

WILLINGTON, CT — A pair of masked burglars failed to extract a bank machine from a business in Willington early Monday morning and are shown on video scurrying out of the doorway in a panic.
At 1:53 a.m., Troopers responded to a burglary at the Mobile Gas Station, located adjacent to the Interstate 84 Exit 70 interchange in Willington, according to an incident report.
Surveillance footage captured the incident and it shows two people using a U-Haul truck in an attempt to steal an automated teller machine inside the station's convenience store, state police said.

When one of the two began trying to yank out the ATM with a neon green heavy-duty tow strap, it caused property damage and the two scurried out of the business in a panic, the video shows.
State police said there is no further information available regarding the registration of the U-Haul truck.
