West Hartford Announces July 4 Holiday Impacts

The Fourth of July holiday is on Friday, July 4, this year.

WEST HARTFORD, CT — With America celebrating another birthday this Friday, July 4, comes announced municipal impacts regarding services in town.

In West Hartford, all municipal facilities, including West Hartford Town Hall, libraries, community centers, senior centers, skating rink, Cornerstone Aquatics Center, West Hartford Yard Waste & Recycling Center, and summer camp programs, are closed on Friday, July 4, in observance of the Independence Day holiday.

Outdoor pools, however, will remain open at all locations from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Regarding trash collection, officials said only the Friday collection area will be delayed by one day due to the holiday.

Crews will collect trash, “B” week recycling, yard waste, and metal collections on Saturday, July 5.
