WEST HARTFORD, CT — A West Hartford Dog Park Coalition event Saturday drew a nice turnout, as many area dog owners learned a thing or two about their beloved canines.

According to West Hartford Dog Park Coalition Co-President David Coleman, about 25-30 people showed up as part of the organizations recognition of June being dog licensing month.

They were joined by certified dog trainer Debbie Sheridan and West Hartford Animal Control Officer Helen Lee for a free forum on understanding their pooches.

The West Hartford Dog Park, which is behind the former St. Brigid School at 100 Mayflower St., was founded by the coalition as a temporary site.

A more permanent location for the dog park, with the current location the likely site, will be built once the town finishes its redevelopment of the school site.
