2 Suspects Charged In Fatal Shooting At Southeast Housing Complex

Two juveniles, ages 16 and 17, have been arrested for the murder of Carl Hardy, who was shot outside the Potomac Gardens housing complex.

WASHINGTON, DC — Two juveniles, ages 16 and 17, have been arrested for the murder of Carl Hardy, who was shot outside the Potomac Gardens housing complex Sunday, Sept. 10.

Hardy, 24, of Northeast, was shot outside the Potomac Gardens housing complex in the 1200 block of I St. SE and died from his injuries about three weeks later on Sunday, Oct. 1, police said.

Police arrested a 16-year-old juvenile male from Southeast on Oct. 26. On Thursday, police arrested a second suspect—Quincy Garvin, 17, of Southeast. Both suspects are charged with First Degree Murder While Armed. Garvin was charged as an adult, police said.

Police said Hardy suffered a gunshot wound to the back and transported him to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Police released surveillance video that shows several suspects in the case. The video shows three people jump out of a black car stopped in front of the apartment complex. The video does not capture the shooting.
