Authorities Issue Urgent Flood Advisory For DC
Tides could be up to two feet above normal on Tuesday in the District, authorities warn.
WASHINGTON, DC — D.C. authorities have issued a flood advisory for the District on Tuesday, warning that tides could be 1.5 to 2 feet above normal.
The advisory from the District of Columbia AlertDC system, which is in effect from 3 p.m. until 9 p.m., affects the entire D.C. shoreline.
The flooding will be most acute during high tide, which for Washington is at 6:17 p.m.

"Shoreline inundation is expected along portions of the seawall adjacent to Ohio Drive and the Hains Point Loop Road, and near the Tidal Basin and Jefferson Memorial," the alert states. "Minor shoreline inundation up to one foot above ground is possible elsewhere."
