• Several options at play as DC leaders consider transit for new Commanders stadium (fox5dc.com) — D.C. officials are hammering out how fans and neighbors will actually get to the new Commanders stadium, with a strong push to rely on Metro and bus rapid transit instead of cars. Plans under discussion include major upgrades to Stadium-Armory, possible new transit links from Union Station, and parking for about 6,000 vehicles as construction targets a 2027 start in Washington.

• US government admits negligence in helicopter-plane collision that killed 67 in Washington (ksgf.com) — Federal lawyers now admit the U.S. government bears responsibility for last January’s deadly collision between a Black Hawk helicopter and an airliner near Washington, D.C., over the Potomac River by Reagan National Airport. The filing cites FAA controller errors and Army pilot failures, while families of victims, including several from the Washington area, pursue accountability as NTSB’s final report approaches.

• Senator pauses Coast Guard nomination over policy on swastikas, nooses and other hate symbols (ksgf.com) — From Washington, a U.S. senator is blocking the nomination of Adm. Kevin Lunday to lead the Coast Guard over concerns about a new policy on swastikas, nooses, and other hate symbols. Homeland Security and Coast Guard officials insist the updated rules still prohibit such symbols, even as wording describing them as merely “potentially divisive” draws scrutiny first reported by the Washington Post.
