• DC Fire rescues man from Anacostia River (wusa9.com) — A man was rescued from the Anacostia River in Washington after falling into the cold water near the Sousa Bridge Sunday afternoon. DC Fire and Rescue swimmers pulled him to shore and took him to a local hospital, where he’s being evaluated but was initially standing in chest-deep water.
   

• Record holiday travel expected as 8 million take flight; Reagan Airport advises early check-in (wusa9.com) — If you’re flying out of Washington’s Reagan National this holiday week, expect record-breaking crowds and plan to arrive two to three hours early. AAA projects about 8 million flyers nationwide, and airport staff urge D.C.-area travelers to pre-book parking, consider outside bag check, and follow TSA tips for gifts and security lines.
