Baby Gorilla Breaks Leg At National Zoo: Report

A baby gorilla known to be a "bit of a daredevil" at the zoo reportedly is recovering after breaking his leg.

WASHINGTON, DC -- A baby gorilla apparently had a nasty spill at the National Zoo after staff noticed he had a broken leg, but don't worry, he's on the mend, according to a report.

WTOP reports that zookeepers aren't sure what happened to 9-month-old Moke, but he is a "bit of a daredevil," a staffer said.

Moke can often be seen jumping around, so it's certainly possible that he landed the wrong way one time.

Zookeepers realized something was wrong when they noticed that Moke was not putting weight on his left leg, and after examination determined that he had fractured his left femur.

However, it's not a severe fracture, so the zoo is going to let the injury heal on its own.
