• No one hurt in Northwest DC row house fire (dcnewsnow.com) — Firefighters quickly contained a two-alarm row house fire Sunday on the 2100 block of 13th Street NW in Washington, preventing major spread to neighboring homes. No one was hurt, but officials are still determining how many residents will be displaced while investigators work to find the cause.

• Experts urge added safety measures as to protect police during roadside stops (wusa9.com) — A US Park Police officer struck by a car on the Baltimore–Washington Parkway is now home from the hospital, underscoring the risks officers face on local roads. Experts highlight how DC-area agencies, including MPD, can better protect officers with reflective uniforms, more visible patrol cars, blocking vehicles, and GPS-based crash alerts to warn nearby drivers.
