WASHINGTON, DC — Bill Nye the Science Guy -- one of the most outspoken activists urging action on climate change -- was spotted riding the Metro in D.C. Thursday morning.

Twitter user Andre Jones tweeted a selfie he took with Nye on the train, remarking that he "gave up [his] seat on the metro to a man in a blue seat trying to manage his luggage."

He added that Nye said he was on his way to Congress to brief a NASA project.
