Classified Mission Involving Helicopters Happening Over DC-Report
The Pentagon reportedly has requested funding for a classified Black Hawk mission over D.C.
WASHINGTON, DC — The Pentagon has requested funding for a secret mission involving Black Hawk helicopters flying over the D.C. area, according to a report.
The Hill reports that the classified mission was included in the Defense Department's annual reprogramming request to Congress, which asks for funds to support an "emerging classified flight mission."
Specifically, the Army wants to shift $1.55 million for maintaining 10 UH-60 Black Hawk helicopters, which would be used for missions involving both active duty and reserve troops, the report states.

The funds would also go to a "Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility" at nearby Fort Belvoir.
The mission began in late 2018 and will go on for an undetermined amount of time, the report states.
